New Davidson's Mains takeaway gets go-ahead despite objections
29 JulyEdinburgh City Council has given the go-ahead for a new hot food outlet in Davidson's Mains - despite local objections, and a 100-strong petition against the store.
The committee approved the plans, which had received ten objections during the consultation proposal, including two petitions with a total of over 100 signatures.
Some local residents had also complained about an oversupply of takeaways in the area and pointed to the area being residential. However, 53 representations in favour of the new premises were also made to the council- including a 541 strong petition, though not all of those were from the local area.
